The Watts Water Pressure Test Gauge lets you quickly check your home's water pressure to protect your plumbing and appliances. High water pressure is a common cause of banging pipes, running toilets, leaking faucets and short water-heater, washer and dishwasher life. The 3/4" hose connection threads onto an outside hose bibb or the drain connection on a water heater, and a red high-pressure indicator hand "holds" at the highest reading – leave it on overnight to catch pressure surges (thermal expansion). If it reads over 60 psi, it's time for a pressure regulator; 80 psi or higher calls for an expansion tank.
